Project Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Coordinate and lead teams on a field-based elephant
research project in Peninsular Malaysia.
- Conduct field research and data collection on the ground
with several field teams.
- Liaise and collaborate with research partners in
government agencies in other organizations.
- Write and co-write research papers for international
publication and reports.
- Must be fluent in spoken English and Malay and at least
moderate written in both. Ability to communicate in Mandarin
is a plus.
Relevant training is provided, where necessary.
2. Wildlife
researchers (4 positions)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Lead a team of research assistants and field workers on
a field-based tiger or elephant research project in Endau Rompin
National Park and the adjacent Permanent Reserve Forest of
Johor.
- Fieldwork will comprise: camera-trapping work, wildlife
surveys and data collection of human-wildlife conflict (HWC).
- Conduct field research and data collection on the ground
with a small team.
- Write field report after each field trip.
- Write and co-write reports on the project.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in biological sciences, conservation or related
field.
- Willing to travel to rural areas for extended periods at
a time.
- Must be willing to work with people and and as a team.
- Must be fluent in spoken English and Malay, and have
moderate writing skills in both; ability to communicate in
Mandarin is a plus.
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in mammal research is an advantage.
- Passion and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation are a

3. Wildlife
Conservation Educator
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conduct conservation education programmes in villages with local communities
for extended periods at a time.
- For the first few months, be responsible for organizing and holding meetings
and dialogues with out-station Residents' offices, District offices, other
government agencies and relevant project stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic degree in biological sciences or related field.
- Must be willing to travel frequently to villages and
out-station government offices.
- Having a good grasp of languages is a plus.
- Previous experience in the following is an advantage:
- teaching or conservation biology;
- collaborating with local authorities.
- Must be willing to work with people and as a team.
- Good communication skills, adaptability and willingness
to learn are important.
